What Our Clients Say

This is the best company I have ever worked with. They are extremely professional and responsive.

Our Solid Waste Management Plan states that we need to support and facilitate reuse whenever possible. This is an excellent, low maintenance, low cost way to accomplish that goal. We only spend a small amount per year for this site! It takes 20 minutes or less a day to administer the site, and residents are constantly thanking us for the service.

We already advertise on our local radio stations and newspapers, so we haven’t had to spend much on extra advertising. In fact, the newspaper continues to contact me to do stories about the service and follow up on its progress. Local radio stations play our 30-second ad as a public service announcement and charge us nothing for this.

Barb, I did Google it, but was going page after page looking at ink suppliers and stuck in the middle was your site. Just by luck I happened to clik on it. Normally I look at the first two or three pages. Something compelled me to look further and for some reason I hit your site not expecting anything to come of it. I was really excited because my service rep here in Winnipeg said they had tried all over North America to find one. I phoned him back on Friday and told him I found one and they were very surprised because he said they do not exist any longer and parts are no longer available anywhere. Finding
yours was like finding a needle in a hay stack maybe thats why I was so excited! Thanks again Barb, I really appreciate this and I think your site is a valuable tool. I have booked marked it in my favourites and have been telling my friends about it. I think something like this should get started in every city!

Re: Gestetner Machine from Smith Falls to Winnipeg

The City of Port Angeles and Clallam County went through the approval process in January 2005. I had to convince my three City bosses as well as a City Utility Committee and the County Commissioners. My main point was 2good2toss is an easy, "feel good" program which is also inexpensive. It is a good PR tool for the county.

I visited all of our local resale stores and told them about the website before presenting to the commissioner. All of business owners were supportive and did not view it as competition. Instead, they viewed it as a way to spread the REUSE idea.

On the website I list all the local charities and special events that involve the reuse of materials.

The use of our site is steadily growing and each month I share the statistics with my bosses. The tonnages of diverted materials is still small but just the other day someone sold an engine block which was on the way to the landfill (or the roadside) - and very heavy! So a few of these success stories make it worth the small amount of time it takes
to administer and the small yearly fee.

Re: 2good2toss Success Stories

Norm,

Happy New Year to you and your family. What a great service the Exchange has been in Tacoma and Pierce County. We have a great group of users and I get positive feedback from them on a daily basis. I think this is the best program I have implemented in Tacoma.

  • I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for such a fine website. I have had such great luck finding new homes for my items as well as finding great deals. I have also met some great people through this site and all are thrilled to have found 2good2toss. Thank you again for the great work!!
  • Hello David, As one who has just discovered your service I have to say I am very optimistic about it's value to the community! Thanks for the resource and I will use it often!
  • This site is an incredible resource-- useful items and easy to navigate. If you have the funding, spread the word about this service to social service organizations around the state. I work at a low-income housing complex, and we regularly receive furniture requests from residents. This should help us to fill those needs. I'd also let the owners of storage facilities and rental properties know about this, as they are often left to deal with nice, but unfortunately abandoned, furniture. I just wanted to thank you for all your work in providing 2 Good to Toss Items website. I have just posted my second listing and I know some one will appreciate these two toilets if they need them. Thanks again
  • My mother lives in Michigan and is interested in trying to get this type of website started in her town. Is there any information you could give me (or her) to help her along? Or maybe a contact person from your agency that could talk to a contact person in the appropriate agency there? They could really use something like this as there are many people that would use it. How do I delete my posting when the item is gone? Thanks I push the delete button, duh, sorry guess I'm not as awake as I thought.
  • I continue to be amazed with the number of items available or wanted on your exchange site. Thanks for your continued great work.
  • I put a futon in your site last night and already have e-mailed back and forth a few times with one person. I also may have bought a file cabinet. Thanks for a great alternative to ebay. I much prefer this local way to trade our furniture and items. Thanks,
  • Awesome site! Great place to pick up get reasonably priced used items. Thanks!
  • awesome, awesome, awesome site. I've already recommended it to several people. Good work!
  • Thanks for putting this site on for us local people... I have a lot of things to clear out before moving and I hate to throw them away or give to the GOODWILL which doesn't take a lot of things...So this is great... :O) Work weekends so Garage Sales are out for me...I love your site... :O)
  • I believe this is a great program. I wish I had known about it earlier. I have a lot of items that I no longer need and what a super way to make a little money or give these items away to someone who has a use for them. Thank you for making this avenue available.
  • Hi David:I just wanted to tell you how happy I am that 2good2toss is available for Thurston County. My husband and I are starting a vegetable garden for our family this year, and needed some fencing to make the deer think twice before grazing. We are on a tight budget, but we found a roll for $5 from a very kind lady, and the roll was more than enough to complete our project. Thank you so much for making this service available!
  • I just have to say that this is the coolest sight I have found on the internet. I was lead to this by a community fair at PLU, which was also pretty neat. I have already found something I want to buy and sell in the same hour that I logged into this incredible sight. What a nice way to put good used items back into the use cycle. Good for you! Thank you so much!

This website is great! They other day I was dropping stuff off at the dump and I need a part for a hot water tank so I asked the guy working there if he minded if I looked over the appliences. He said that GVRD wont allow anything to leave! I could not belive that they would rather send that stuff to a landfill than give it to me. I hope The GVRD follows surrey's lead with websites like this. thank you.
